Our school held the training for newly recruited faculty and staff in 2024

To deeply study and implement the spirit of the National Education Conference, further enhance the professional ethics and capabilities of new teachers, from October 17 to October 25, our school conducted the training for newly recruited faculty and staff in 2024 with the theme of "Dedicated to the Teaching Profession, Striving with Vigor, and Promoting Growth Together". A total of 264 newly hired faculty and staff successfully completed six modules of learning: "Promoting the Spirit of Educators" "Professional Ethics" "Cultural Identity" "Professional Competence" "National Conditions Research" and "Mental Health".


At the opening ceremony on October 17, all newly recruited faculty and staff sang the school song together and solemnly took an oath led by Prof. Zhang Teng, an outstanding teacher representative. Vice President Zhou Jiantao presented the school badge to representatives of the new faculty and staff, then welcomed the new staff members to Inner Mongolia University on behalf of the school and delivered an opening speech. She introduced the construction and development history of our school, pointing out that the development of the school is closely related to every faculty and staff member of Inner Mongolia University.


New hires should quickly understand and integrate into IMU, cultivate themselves in their careers with professional ethics as the priority, vigorously promote and practice the spirit of educators; strive for excellence, take on missions, improve the professional competence of university teachers; work together, hand in hand, and contribute wisdom and strength to the development of the school. The opening ceremony was presided over by Liu Zhiliang, the head of the Personnel Department.


The training began with the "Promoting the Spirit of Educators" professional ethics publicity activity. The school invited researcher fellow Liu Dongjun, known as the "Most Beautiful Teacher" in the Autonomous Region, National Outstanding Teacher Prof. Chen Shufeng, and young teacher Bao Weihui from our school to share their understanding and insights on the "Spirit of Educators" based on their own growth experiences, representing three generations of teachers. Subsequently, they proceeded to learn about the "Professional Ethics" "Cultural Identity" "Professional Competence" "National Conditions Research" and "Mental Health" modules, taught by well-known experts and leaders from fifteen departments within and outside the region, including Ban Shiliang, Shi Zhenzhen, Wang Guoquan, Wang Qianyu, Zhou Jiti, Sun Dawei, Hu Qinghui, and Na Lanye.


Liu Zhiliang said at the closing ceremony that young teachers should elevate their political stance, vigorously promote the spirit of educators, quickly adapt to their roles, actively integrate into teaching and research work, and strive to become "great teachers'' who are both scholars and models of character. Graduation does not mean the end but a new beginning. New teachers should carry what they have learned and gained during the training, their passion and dedication to the education cause, and their sense of mission to cultivate peaches and plums in the north for the cause of educational power, continuously striving and advancing in their future work to contribute their strength to the school's "Double First-Class"construction.


New teachers expressed that they had gained much from this new employee training. Yang Shuo from the College of Computer Science (College of Software) ,College of Artificial Intelligence stated that through this learning experience, he understood that as a university teacher in the new era, one must not only shoulder the sacred responsibility of educating and nurturing students but also do a good job in scientific research. On the basis of imparting theoretical knowledge, it is more important to connect with reality, lead the enthusiasm and innovative thinking of students in scientific research.


Liu Mengjie from the School of Economics and Management said that she would take this training as an opportunity, set moral bottom lines with initial aspiration, perseverance and craftsmanship, aim to enhance teaching ability, innovation ability, and coordination ability, further clarify her career direction, make adequate preparations, and with greater enthusiasm and firm confidence, become a "Four-Haves" good teacher of the new era.


Pan Guoqing, counselor of the School of Physical Science and Technology, said he profoundly felt the school's emphasis on and comprehensive support for the counselor team. He stated that as a university counselor, one needs to increase initiative, achieve a transformation from being nurtured to self-nurturing; proactively stand at the forefront of ideological and political education, accompany student growth; combine actual work in the college to seek innovation points and breakthroughs, contributing wisdom and strength to the work of the college and school.


Wu Tao from the Party Committee Publicity Department experienced the responsibilities and missions carried by university faculty and staff during the learning process. She stated that although the administrative role in higher education institutions may not be prominent on stage, it is crucial to every aspect of school operations, ensuring teaching quality, promoting academic prosperity, and maintaining campus harmony. In future work, I will focus on my primary responsibilities and business, pay attention to improving business capabilities and theoretical standards, cultivate myself, accumulate strength, and tell the story of IMU well.
