The "Local Comprehensive University Press Working Committee 2024 Annual Meeting and Digital Textbook Construction Workshop" hosted by the Local Comprehensive University Press Working Committee of the China University Press Association (hereinafter referred to as the "Local Press Committee") and organized by Inner Mongolia University Press was held in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region from July 31 to August 1, 2024. More than 70 people attended the meeting, including leaders and representatives from Inner Mongolia University, China University Press Association and other units, as well as experts and scholars from Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Zhejiang University and other university presses and 16 local comprehensive university presses.

At the opening ceremony of the conference, Prof. Du Fenglian, Vice President of Inner Mongolia University, delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the school.

Li Yongqiang, Chairman of the China University Press Association, and Ma Lai, Vice Chairman of the China University Press Association and President of Northwest University Press, delivered speeches on behalf of the Local Press Committee respectively. The opening ceremony was presided over by Jiang Dejun, the president of Inner Mongolia University Press.

During the conference presentation stage, representatives from Tsinghua University Press, Jinan University Press, Zhejiang University Press, and Shaanxi Yizhi Technology Company gave presentations respectively. The conference report was chaired by Chen Yu, Deputy Secretary General of the China University Press Association and President of Yanshan University Press.

The discussion and exchange stage were presided over by Jiang Dejun, president of Inner Mongolia University Press. Experts and scholars from 16 local comprehensive university presses and representatives of Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Zhejiang University and other university presses expressed their views and fully exchanged views on digital textbook construction, system reform, innovation and development, strengthening cooperation and other issues at the seminar. Dai Genxing, Secretary General of the China University Press Association, and Chen Yu, Deputy Secretary General of the China University Press Association and President of Yanshan University Press, gave concluding remarks on the seminar and exchange meeting. The theme of this seminar was solid and the communication was in-depth, achieving the expected goal of enhancing confidence and clarifying direction. Representatives from various university presses attending the seminar reached a broad consensus on complementary advantages and win-win cooperation.

This conference provided a good platform for comprehensive university publishing houses in various regions to exchange, learn, and communicate with each other. Colleagues from university publishing houses shared their successful experiences in digital textbook construction and other publishing businesses on this platform. The conference fully combined the learning and implementation of Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era with the theme, discussed the new situation and measures for the construction of digital textbooks in the era of informationalization in higher education, and contributed to serving the "Double First Class" construction of universities, promoting the deep integration of publishing development.
